Network Engineer -- Indianapolis, IN

Position Summary:

The Network Engineer is a Tier 2-level administrator that has experience in supporting multiple network technology services

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Configure, install and troubleshoot Cisco routing and switching devices

·         Configure, install and troubleshoot Cisco VoIP system

·         Configure, install and troubleshoot Fortinet and Cisco firewall

·         Provision and maintain remote access devices such as RSA tokens and VPN clients

·         Maintain a flexible work schedule that allows for after hours and weekend work

·         Maintain inventory and documentation of the network environment

·         Provide support for offsite events such as meetings and championships at remote locations for extended periods

·         Create and publish reports based on Key Performance Indicators

·         Provide recommendations for improving the network environment,

·         Perform troubleshooting for complex hardware, software and network problems

·         Provide leadership for infrastructure projects in the role of Project Manager

·         Work closely with business units to provide input and leadership from a technical perspective,

·         Interface with the Service Desk and provide them with guidelines on troubleshooting network issues

·         Network Engineering support of major NCAA events (e.g., NCAA Convention, NCAA Final Four, NCAA College World Series), which may require travel (up to 20%).

Requirements and Preferred Skills:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a relevant subject matter required.

·         5-8 years’ equivalent work experience in an enterprise network environment

·         At least 3-5 years of provisioning firewalls and other network security devices in an enterprise environment

·         Experience with Solarwinds or other network management applications

·         Exposure to Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) fundamentals

·         Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

·         Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities

·         Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
